Multinationals, franchises : how to train a corporate network?

Extended enterprise and learning? Most organizations forget to train their partners who are an integral part of their ecosystem. The LMS platforms allow to answer this problem.

The terms "extended training" or "extended enterprise" are uncommon in everyday language and yet, at a time when many companies are constantly surrounding themselves with partners, this is now a real challenge.

In fact, there is hardly any company that lives without a partner at all! By "partner", we actually mean all the players who operate around it and participate in its functioning, from near or far. This can be a supplier, a distributor, franchisees, subsidiaries for a Group and even its customers!

In short, each company operates in an ecosystem of its own, and like any ecosystem, the whole must be in perfect harmony in order to move forward in a healthy manner..

Extended Enterprise: What about training?

Today, training is an issue for all companies. It is therefore very common for a company to have an LMS platform on which its content is distributed to its employees. However, a large number of companies do not take into account their partners, i.e. their ecosystem!

The content thus remains purely internal and never leaves the company's highly compartmentalized premises, whereas knowledge could be distributed more widely, with a view to sharing and coherence.

Extended Enterprise Applied to digital training... what does it look like?

In order to solve this problem and create a real network within the training for a company and its partners, LMS platforms rely on the possibility of creating "sub-platforms". Here is a brief overview of how these work.

The partner platforms all depend on a platform called "mother" platform: it is the administrator of this platform who has the possibility to create one or more partner platforms (depending on its ecosystem), which can be designated as "daughter platform(s)". This platform is a delimited space, which includes its own trainings and its own users. The latter can be managed entirely by the administrator of the main platform, i.e. total control, or an administrator can be designated on the partner platform, who will be able to be more autonomous in this way.

The partner platforms are themselves divisible into groups, in order to be able to respect the complexity of each hierarchical structure and posture. In the same spirit, the interfaces of all partner platforms are customizable!

The partner platforms thus make it possible to recreate a company's network or ecosystem, whatever the status of its partners (internal, external, etc.) but also to promote training to a wider audience than just its internal structure.
